Russell Martin is an independent consultant who has worked with geospatial data and cartographic design tools since 1985, on several different platforms and in many different business and academic settings. He has developed computer systems involving spatial data for clients in transportation, land development, resource management, environmental protection, recreation, entertainment, retail and other highly specialized fields. He is a member of the Association of American Geographers, the Autodesk Developer Network and several GIS user groups.

Russell is the technical editor of all of Cadapult Software Solutions' training books, and is the co-author of "Digging into AutoCAD Map 3D 2010" (and earlier editions). 

He has taught AutoCAD and AutoCAD Map 3D to hundreds of users; one-on-one, in small classrooms and at Autodesk University.

He has written many articles and white papers on AutoCAD and AutoCAD Map 3D.
